Custom Development

From concept to deployment,
end to end.

A six-stage process built on over a decade of industrial experience.

Stage 0101

Briefing

Clear communication is key.

Every project starts with a clear understanding of its objectives, users, environment, technical requirements and budget. We define the key requirements from the outset and turn them into a clear project scope, keeping everyone aligned from the first concept through development and production.

  • +Project briefing & requirements
  • +Defined scope and key objectives
  • +Technical constraints and project risks
  • +Indicative budget and timeline
Stage 0202

Design

Aesthetics shaped by function and production.

Industrial design is developed entirely in-house, balancing form, functionality and manufacturability from the start. We move from initial concepts to detailed CAD, refining proportions, materials, finishes and brand integration while considering production efficiency, durability, assembly and maintenance.

  • +Concept development and design direction
  • +Photorealistic renders and material selection
  • +Materials, finishes and production review
  • +Ergonomics and user interaction study
Stage 0303

Development

Engineering, prototyping and validation.

Mechanical and electronic engineering come together to turn the approved design into a fully functional product. We develop and test prototypes using real components, refining construction, assembly, performance and reliability before moving into production.

  • +Functional prototype with real hardware
  • +Mechanical and electronic development
  • +Performance and reliability testing
  • +Final production-ready drawings
Stage 0404

Manufacturing

Precision production, consistent quality.

Manufacturing combines in-house production with a trusted network of specialised partners. From metal fabrication and machining to surface finishing, every stage is carefully controlled to ensure accuracy, consistency and repeatable quality from prototype to full production.

  • +Production setup and validation
  • +Dimensional quality control
  • +Material and process control
  • +Surface and finish consistency
Stage 0505

Assembling

Precision in every detail.

Final assembly brings every component together into a complete, fully integrated kiosk. Hardware, electronics, displays and internal systems are carefully installed, configured and tested to ensure each unit performs reliably and is ready for deployment.

  • +Hardware and component integration
  • +Electrical and electronic installation
  • +Functional testing and configuration
  • +Final preparation for deployment
Stage 0606

Deployment

Delivered anywhere, ready to perform.

We manage the final stage from packaging and logistics to delivery and on-site deployment. Each kiosk is prepared for safe transport, efficient installation and reliable operation, with ongoing support and spare parts available whenever needed.

  • +Global logistics and delivery
  • +On-site installation and setup
  • +Technical support and maintenance
  • +Spare parts and replacement service

Case 01

Parking Wayfinding

Microsoft is modernizing its headquarters in Redmond, Washington, and Moobo was chosen as a key player. The brief was a bespoke smart parking solution: kiosks where campus users register and locate their vehicles, built to stay accessible to everyone and to survive the outdoors. Aluminium for the weather, a retractable module with an antivandal keyboard for the traffic, braille tags on each function and a custom text to speech module for visitors who cannot read the screen.

Case 02

Les Franciscaines

A building from 1875, bought by the city of Deauville in 2012 and reopened as a venue that is library, museum and auditorium at once. We were brought in to integrate the multimedia and interactive solutions across all of it. The approach was to keep the terminals present but unobtrusive, so the attention stays on the architecture and the help is there when someone looks for it.

Vila do Conde Porto Fashion Outlet

VIA Outlets, with shopping centres in some of Europe's best travel destinations, set out to upgrade the visitor experience with interactive and multimedia terminals, giving visitors more information while carrying dedicated advertising for the stores. The result is a slim, lightly angled terminal, which matters in a public space, with polished stainless steel sides and a glass top. We handled industrial design, manufacturing, assembly and deployment.

Livraria Lello

A secular bookshop in the centre of Porto, considered one of the most beautiful in the world. To update the payment and consultation stations we worked with the detail already in the room, concealing all the modern equipment inside a clean wooden structure. The new elements stay neutral, so what people notice is still the shop.

Case 05

Lamassu

A partnership that started in 2013 with the first Bitcoin ATM and has run through seven original designs since, from Trofa and Douro to Santo Tirso, Braga, Sintra and Gaia. Design consultancy, industrial design, prototyping, manufacturing and assembly, with each generation taking in what the field reported back. The machines are deployed across several countries.
